About Stephanie

Opera singer and INstructor
I'm a voice pedagogue, performer, and Co-founder of Opera Sustenida, where I juggle various roles from Director to Filmmaker and Video Editor. I craft digital opera experiences, create new ways to teaching and I orchestrate hybrid productions that blend technology with live performances, garnering recognition from the Canadian Council for the Arts.

I've founded and led the Lakeshore Conservatory of Music, crafting a unique curriculum that not only helps students excel academically but also shine on the stage. My repertoire also includes roles as an adjudicator and Masterclinician, reflecting my versatility and accomplishments in the music industry.
For over a decade, Stephanie has immersed herself in the world of music, both as a dedicated student and a passionate teacher. While her heart beats for classical music, she also revels in the joy of exploring various musical genres with her students.

At the core of Stephanie's teaching philosophy is a solid foundation in proper vocal technique, which she firmly believes is the key to unlocking a singer's potential. With a focus on resonance, breath control, diction, dramatic interpretation, and stage presence, Stephanie guides her students towards becoming well-rounded performers.

Stephanie's expertise extends to preparing her students for a range of milestones and goals, from university auditions to competitions, Royal Conservatory exams, performances or perhaps just to enjoy a beautiful art form.  Her approach is tailored to each student's unique goals, creating an atmosphere that is both enriching and enjoyable.

In her piano lessons, Stephanie provides a comprehensive education in musicianship. She covers everything from technique and historical context to proper hand positioning and the art of expressing oneself through music. Stephanie can guide her students through a journey of musical development, culminating at the RCM Grade 7 level.

Stephanie's students have placed/won many competitions, such as the International Music Competition, the Peel Festival, the Merriam Festival, the North York Festival, and the Burlington Rotary Festival. Stephanie's students have been accepted to major universities; including Mcgill University, University of Toronto, Western University, and Laurier University, and performed on important stages, including in the Toronto Fringe Festival and at the Canadian Opera Company.
